Running hours explained
Laytime in running hours counts every hour once it starts, day or night, weekend or not. It is the standard basis on tanker voyage charters, typically expressed as 72 running hours SHINC.
Exceptions still apply where the charter provides them, such as shifting, ship's delays and, on many forms, half time for specified causes.
