WIPON
Whether In Port Or Not
Meaning
WIPON lets notice of readiness be tendered even if the ship is waiting outside port limits, so waiting before entering port can count as laytime.
WIPON explained
WIPON goes further than WIBON. It covers ships held outside the port, for example at an outer anchorage because the port itself is congested, and allows NOR to be given there.
It is especially relevant for ports where the usual waiting area lies outside the legal port limits.
